Abigail "Abby" LaVern Stantz

February 06, 1952 – December 08, 2023

Abby Stantz 71, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on December 08, 2023.  She is survived by her daughters Heather (John) Stantz-Baugher and Chantel Jobes & her son Tom Stantz.  She is also survived by her brother Chuck Stantz (Vicki) and a sister Karen Stantz (and partner Karen Musket).

Abby was blessed with five grandchildren: Matthew Stantz, Hunter Stantz, Jimmy Stantz, Emily Hoffmaster and Joey Hoffmaster.  She was especially blessed with nine great grandchildren: Harlow Stantz, Hayden Stantz, Hasley Stantz, Harper Stantz, Rowan Stantz, Bowie Bradley, Murphy Bradley, Sawyer Bradley and Machylee Hoffmaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents Donald Lee Stantz and LaVern P. (Isenblatter) Stantz.

She loved being a home maker and decorated her home inside and out beautifully, as if it were straight out of a magazine. She had a passion for serving others and worked for Hospice.  She loved feeding the animals in her yard, especially the deer and ground hogs and she had a passion for doing autobody work. She was very proud of all of her work in restoring a 1949 Dodge with her husband.  She was a Notre Dame fan and she loved spending time gardening.  She especially loved precious time with her family and talking about her grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on from 1:00pm  – 2:00 pm on December 29, 2023 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home to celebrate her life, with services beginning at 2:00pm.
