Addison Grace Baum

January 16, 2020 - February 11, 2020

"For this child, we prayed."

The most beautiful baby girl, Addison Grace, was born on January 16, 2020 at 6:33pm weighing 3 pounds, 15 ounces and measuring 17 3/4 inches long. She was born premature at 33 weeks and 4 days as she was so excited and ready to meet her mommy and daddy.

Heavens gain was our loss as Addison passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving parents, early in the morning on February 11th. She was a fighter, but after a tough battle with HPE and multiple other deformities, she passed gently into the arms of Jesus.

Addison was the daughter of Ashley and Douglas Baum of Mishawaka. She was the answer to their prayers and they waited for her birth with joyful expectation. During her brief visit on earth, she enjoyed listening to music, holding hands with mommy and daddy, listening as her mommy and daddy sang her songs, being told "I love you" an uncountable amount of times, and snuggle time was her favorite time. She loved being wrapped in pretty, bright colored blankets and had an array of hair bows to match every one.

She is preceded in death by her grandpa: David Randall. Great-grandfathers: Charles Baum and Charles Cowsert, and one great grandmother: Gloria Baum. She is survived by grandparents: Laurie Randall, Kevin Womack, Kimberly Baum, and Douglas Baum. Great-grandparents: Richard (Kathy) Deming, Mary Cowsert, Bobbie (Ron) Jones, and Bud (Patricia) Cherry. Uncles and aunts: Justin (Ashley) Randall, Matthew (Kimberlyn) Baum, MacKenzie Baum-Zanotti. Cousin: Parker Baum.

In her short life, she touched many lives and was loved deeply by family, friends, and all of her nurses & doctors at Riley Hospital for Children.

Addison gave us a lifetime of love during her short time here on earth. There will be a celebration of her life at the Elkhart Moose Lodge on CR 6 on Friday, February 21st at 6:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, we would be honored to have you support Riley Hospital for Children and the Ronald McDonald House in Indianapolis, IN as they supported us in our time of need.

Douglas and Ashley would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to their nurses at Riley Hospital NICU for the incredible care provided to Addison and them as well.
