Agnes Elaine Garrett, 55, of Bristol, passed away as a result of an accidental house fire on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Elaine was born on August 12, 1954 in Bremen to William and Rosa M. (Langley) Carter. On June 20, 1987, she married Randall L. Garrett, who also passed away.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Scott) Babcock of Bristol, grandson, Zachary Babcock of Bristol, mother, Rosa Carter of Plymouth, seven sisters, Linda (Kirby) Miller of Nappanee, Carolyn "Liz" Odiorne of Mt. Vernon, IN, Rosemary (Jeff) Schmucker of Warsaw, IN, Lisa Skinner of Phoenix, AZ, Nancy (Ronnie) Linville, of Nappanee, IN, Ruth (Barry) Curtis of South Bend, IN, and Rebecca (Tony) Stiles of Plymouth, IN; and four brothers, Nathan Charles (Ginger) Carter of Elkhart, William Paul (Lynda) Carter of Atoka, IN, John Carter of Columbia City, IN and Sam (Keri) Carter of Avilla, IN.
She was Bremen High School Graduate, class of 1973 and a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Elkhart. She worked for Beardsley Elementary School in the lunch room.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 in 4:00 pm in Grace Lutheran Church, 831 West Marion Street, Elkhart with three hours of visitation prior to the service. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola is handling arrangements.
