Albert Haynes, age 85 of Mishawaka, died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Hospice House in South Bend. Albert was born November 26, 1927 to the late John and Ida (Farrand) Haynes in Carnation, Washington. On May 23, 1953, he married Margaret Suiters in Kingman, Indiana. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage tomorrow.
Margaret survives, along with their children, John Haynes of Mound, MN and Lisa Haynes of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Haynes and Phifer Whorley.
Services and interment will be private. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Albert enlisted in the US Army during WWII, and served in France and Germany. He was a Military Policeman from 1940-1943, where he was in charge of guarding prisoners. Albert was employed in the maintenance department for many years at Regency Place in South Bend before retiring at the age of 63. He was known by his family as a hard worker, and enjoyed staying busy around his house. He was also a member of the Osceola United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
