Obituary

Alberta Maxine Correll, age 69, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012. Alberta was born April 13, 1942 to the late Newton and Rosetta (Yockey) Sanderson. Growing up in the Lakeville, Indiana area, she met and married Marion Correll on July 19, 1958. He preceded her in death, passing away in 1995.
Surviving are her sons, Danny (Lori) Correll of Union, Kentucky, Donald Correll of Granger, David (Sherri) Correll of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Darren (Heather) Correll of South Bend. Also surviving are her sisters, Rosemary (Phil) McPartlin of Shelby Twp, Michigan, Margaret Kilburn of Mishawaka, and Sharon Ziglear of South Bend. Alberta is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Nicholas Correll, Andrew Correll, Mark Downs, Jeremy Downs, Logan Correll, Morgan Correll, Joseph (Laura) Correll, Jason (Britney) Correll, Lisa (Jason) Newman, Richard (Pam) Correll, Nicholas Gearhart, Joseph (Tiffany) Gearhart and Sarah Gearhart, as well as 7 great grandchildren; Carson, Evan, Jaiden, David, Landon, Hailey and Riley. Surviving as well is her longtime companion, Larry Jankowski. She was preceded in death by her brothers Russell, Edward and Richard Sanderson, and a great granddaughter, Brynn Correll.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, February 24, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Alberta was employed by the Kent Company for over 20 years, and then QP Products in Elkhart for 6 years prior to her retirement in 2010. In her younger years, she was a High School Cheerleader. She enjoyed reading, listening to country music, cooking and spending time with her dear friends and beloved family. She was also a long time member of Faith United Methodist Church in Goshen.
In her memory, donations may be made to Faith United Methodist Church.
