Obituary

Alice Lenora Cronk passed away on December 4, 2012 in South Bend, Indiana. Alice was born June 7, 1930 in Old Town, Maine to Ester (Small) and Basil Foss.

Alice was employed by Ernie's in 1963 which became Thrifty Mart & then Martin's Super Market until she retired in 1992. Alice was a retired member of the Amalgamated Meat Packers Union.

Alice married Arthur Carl Kardell of Fitchburg, Franklin, Co., Maine. They had one son, Allen Arthur Kardell. Alice later married Monte Derl Cronk in Rockville Park County, Indiana. They had two daughters Onya Keel and Linda Griffin.

Alice is survived by her son Allen Kardell of Osceola, Indiana. Daughters Onya (Glen) Keel of Spring, Texas and Linda (The Honorable Maxwell Jr.) Griffin of Chicago, Illinois; a brother Basil Foss Jr., and a sister Rosie Dion. Her grandchildren Jodi (Dave) Ross, Kelly (Brian) Stultz, Shannon (Matthew) Cochrane, Cameron (Megan) Keel, Scott Griffin and Kaitlin Griffin and her Great grandchildren; Mason, Drew, Hudson, Brock, Owen and Emma.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents Ester and Basil Foss; sister Thela and brothers Daniel, Dean, Jerald, Donald and Floyd Foss.

Alice was a woman with a heart of gold who never knew a stranger. She had a strong work ethic and was passionate about playing euchre. Alice loved her family and relished finding just the right connection with each member. She left us all with lasting treasures through her crocheting. She never wanted to miss her "daytime stories" and always had a supply of peanut M&Ms for everyone to enjoy.

Friends may call 11am-2pm Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, where they may visit with the family and share stories of Alice''s life.
