Obituary

Alice Faye Workman (69) passed away on Sept. 6, 2017 after a long illness. Alice was born at home on Dec. 7,1947 in Blakely, West Virginia to Lee Randolph and Mary Francis Hill (both deceased). She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Clifford Workman on Feb. 6,1994.
Alice is survived by her daughters Dorothy (Workman) Dressler, Mary Workman, and Charlotte (Workman) Lester ;all of Elkhart. All three of her daughters were with her when she passed. She is also survived by her brother Tony Hill and her sister Ruby Hahaj; as well as her four grandchildren Gene Andrew Hartman, Amanda Catlynn (White) Dunn, Austin James Workman, and Cassandra Lynn ( Workman) Roland, and four great-grandchildren Ayden Christopher Hartman, Easton Charles Workman, Conner James Andrew Hartman, and Nicolai Neavin Roland.
In addition to her husband and her parents Alice is also preceded in death by 9 brothers: Connie Ray Waugh, Robert Waugh, William Waugh, Ronald Waugh, Bradford Waugh, Roger Hill, David (Gary)Hill, Harles Hill, and Terry Hill; as well as 2 sisters Charlotte (Waugh) Harter and Elsie Kay (Hill) Workman.
Coming from such a large family she also had many nieces and nephews as well as cousins and all of their children.
Alice came from a tight knit family and it wasn't unusual for them to visit us or for us to visit them, especially during the years that she lived only a block from her mother. She would often go for a walk with one or more of her children to visit with her mom and brother.
Alice lived in Elkhart for many years. She attended church here with her husband and daughters, as well as one of her cousins and his family.
Besides church Alice also enjoyed listening to country music, watching soap operas, and going for walks with her daughters. She enjoyed spending time with the horses at Loveway. Alice loved to reminisce about her childhood home in the hills of West Virginia, where she lived with her large family until she married and started a family of her own.
She will be greatly missed by her family. Alice will be layed to rest next to her husband Charles at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, as was her wish.
