Alvis C. McDougal, age 91, of Mishawaka passed away on November 16, 2017 at 11:35 PM at the Center for Hospice in Elkhart. He was born June 8, 1926 to Bill and Annie (Hand) McDougal in Florence, Alabama. On November 2, 1945, Alvis married Mamie Risner. She preceded him in death on June 24, 1998. Mr. McDougal worked for Dodge Manufacturing for many years until his retirement. Alvis also provided lawn care for over 40 years to his community. Alvis loved listening and playing Bluegrass music and leaves a legacy of a strong work ethic to his family. Alvis is survived by his children, Linda (Roy) Case, Pat (Jim) Teeter-Rzeszewski, and Danny (Carol) McDougal; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was receded in death by his parents; his wife; and a granddaughter, Lisa White. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 12-2 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 with a funeral in Alvis''s honor beginning at 2 PM. Pastor Jay Winter will preside over the service with burial following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Center for Hospice, 22579 Old US 20 East, Elkhart, IN 46516.
