Andrew "Drew" Keith Whetham, age 2 ½ months, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. "Drew Magoo" (as his parents called him) was born August 25, 2014 in Indianapolis to Kevin and Amber (Spoto) Whetham. In his short time here on Earth, Drew loved his time in music therapy, his stuffed frog, and the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at Riley Hospital, where he earned the nickname "Super Drew" as he fought bravely during his battle.
Drew is survived by his parents, Kevin and Amber Whetham of Granger, his grandparents; Keith and Betty Whetham of Granger, Rose and Larry Vinson of Elwood, Indiana and Joe & Dori Spoto of Florida. Also surviving are his great grandparents; Elena Rodriguez of Chicago, Joe & Shirley Spoto of Florida, Barbara Spoto of New Jersey, Lillian Whetham of South Bend and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Drew was preceded in death by his Great-Grandfather Floyd Whetham, Grandmother Beverly Lipowski, and Great-Grandfather Jose Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:30pm Friday, November 14, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Pastors Rob and Tara Wallace of the Northpoint Vineyard Church will officiate the 2:30 pm funeral on Friday, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Amber and Kevin would like to express their gratitude for the many prayers and support shown by friends, family and staff at Riley during Drew''s time in their care. Amber would also ask those attending the service on Friday to wear colors other than black to the service.
In his memory, donations may be made to the family to defray medical expenses. There will also be a celebration of Drew''s life and a benefit to raise awareness for Congenital Heart Defects from 6pm-11:30 pm Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the BK Club in Mishawaka.
