Obituary

Anna Gertrud Bolger

Anna Gertrud Bolger, 85, entered into eternal life on April 10, 2024.   She began her journey growing up in Hanau, Germany.  It was from there that she emigrated to the United States at age 21 where she thrived, raised four daughters, and proudly became a naturalized citizen. In January 1999, she married Paul Bolger with whom she shared many happy years before his passing in 2005.

Throughout her life, Anna loved reading and learning nearly everything about a variety of topics–plants, world mysteries, holistic health, and gemology, to name a few. She especially loved science fiction which led her to join the Galactic Players Guild and to develop a particular fondness for Leonard Nimoy, Mr. Spock, and the Vulcan salute.  Anna engaged in many creative hobbies, such as crafting and jewelry making, which showcased her resourcefulness and ingenuity.  In all of her pursuits she remained a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and loyal friend.  Anna will be remembered as an extremely loving woman whose generous spirit, genuine kindness, and intellect enriched the lives of those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Paul Bolger, her parents, Fredrich and Johanna Böhm, her brother, Helmut Steigler, and the father of her children, John P. Lambert.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Linda (John) Jerdon, Gloria (Skip) Lambert, Cindy (Celestino) Tijerina, and Carol Thompson, and six step-children, Paul Bolger, Jr., Vicki Fritz, Paula Moore, John Schall, Mark Schall, and Davie Schall;  three sisters Erna Kronenberger, Anita Gleische, and Anne Wurzel, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Ave., Osceola, Indiana.  Immediately following the visitation, a funeral service will be held, with minister Chuck Wotring officiating.
