Army Dene Houston, 81, of Elkhart, IN, entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2022. She was born on April 4, 1941 to the late Haywood and Cora Harris in Hayti, Missouri. Throughout her life she had many jobs but was well known as a seamstress and loved to volunteer. She enjoyed working in the garden, cooking, crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. Army never met a stranger and was always up for having a good conversation.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 9 brothers.

Army is survived by her children, Donna (Stacy) Kirkendoll, Derrick Houston, and Dawn Veatch; sister, Jessie Harris; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 PM at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 228 Chapman Ave., Elkhart, IN 46516. A private burial will take place at a later date in Missouri.
