Avery L. Van Dyke, 77, of Mishawaka, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015. The Claypool native was born March 7, 1938 to Clemans M. and Cora (Pratt) Van Dyke. Avery was a graduate of Claypool High School and served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Viet Nam Era. He was a member of the United Steel Workers #12775 and had retired from NIPSCO. Avery was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Thomas Van Dyke, Clemans M. "Junior" Van Dyke, Jr. & Harold Van Dyke as well as his sister, Marilyn Green. Survivors include several nieces & nephews. Arrangements are pending at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
