Azzie Lee Vinson, 77, of South Bend, passed away at 12:13 am, Friday, April 13, 2012 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Azzie was born on July 23, 1934, the daughter of Doulphas and Zettie (Livingston) Porter. On September 25, 1931, she married Fred H. Vinson. He passed away on April 18, 2008.
She is survived by three children, Michael (Teri) Vinson of Elkhart, Debbie (David) Sisk of Fayetteville, GA and Nancy (Keith) Vinson-Yoder of South Bend; three grandchildren, Sarah, Amy, and Matthew and two great granddaughters, Hadley and Lillian. She is also survived by a sister, Helen (Wayne) Sirten of Athens, AL and two brothers, Roy Porter of Bankston, AL and Adron (Mary) Porter of Northport, AL and her beloved dog, Sweetie. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Steven Vinson and brothers, D.A., Richard, and Ferman and sister, Jessie May
Azzie was a member of the DAV Chapter 19 ladies auxiliary. She will be remembered for her love of garage sales and dancing to the band C.M.R.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
