July 28, 1936 – October 22, 2022
On the evening of October 22, 2022, our beautiful, precious mother, Barbara Blair, 86, of Mishawaka, passed away surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born on July 28, 1936 in South Bend, IN to John and Annette (Hayden) Carrico. She married Charles H. Blair on April 14, 1956. He preceded her in death on May 9,2014.
She is survived by her children: Lou (Keith) Johnston, Susie DeVreese, Charlie Blair, Jr., Frank Blair, Christina (Ron) Blair-Whitt and Lenny Blair. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers, Fred (Mary) Carrico, John Carrico and Danny (Debbie) Carrico, and a sister, Sharon Loeffler.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law, Tim Devreese and Patrick Garrison; and 3 brothers, Kenny, Joe and Tommy Carrico.
Barbara was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church for 55 years. She was in the first graduating class from St. Joe Hight School, Class of 1954.
Her family always came first. Her passion was her flower gardens. Mom had such a green thumb that she could bring a dead flower back to life!
There will be one hour of visitation at the church on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday October 26, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 45058 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Rev. John Eze will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
