Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Barbara Ann Campbell (Neher), 85, of South Bend, Indiana, beloved Mother, Sister, Mamaw, and Friend, flew to heaven peacefully on June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family she so fiercely adored.

God was profoundly faithful in His promises to Barbara. Throughout her life's journey, she walked with a quiet, unwavering certainty in His grace. Always faithful and thankful, she would say, “He’s been so good to me.” That beautiful faith has now carried her gently home into His arms.

Barbara lived life with an open heart and a vibrant spirit. She truly never knew a stranger, treating every person she met with instant kindness. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life—spinning across the dance floor with friends, sharing deep belly laughs, and bringing an infectious light into every room she entered. Her absolute happy place was the beach, where the warmth of the sun and the soothing sound of the ocean always restored her soul.

She firmly believed that life was meant to be lived to the absolute fullest, embraced with joy, and shared generously with others. Even as her health failed, Barbara’s focus remained outward; she continually poured out love, ensuring that everyone in her presence felt seen, valued, and deeply cared for. Her warmth, humor, and faith create a beautiful legacy that will be cherished and carried forward by all who knew her.

Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren with unconditional devotion. She also cherished her special bond with her "bestie," Kathleen, whose friendship was a source of endless comfort and joy.

She is survived by her siblings, Richard Neher (Fran) and Lisa Earnhardt Fleck. Her love lives on through her devoted children, Marc Campbell of Mishawaka, IN, Jodi Campbell Montgomery (Nic) of Niles, MI, and Sean Campbell (Megan) of Granger, IN.

Barbara was the incredibly proud Mamaw to her grandchildren, Justin, Andrew, Faith, Seth (Kennidy), Hope, and Amber, who preceded her in death. Her legacy lives on in her six precious great-grandchildren: Hunter, Cole, Caleb, Kampbell, Lincoln, and Vivienne.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Barbara’s beautiful life on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, IN.
