Obituary

EDWARDSBURG, MI — Barbara Ann (Liggett) Collings, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on January 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on October 1, 1938, in Elkhart, Indiana, to the late Robert and Marie (Ollmann) Liggett. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Collings; her son, Steven R. Beachey; and a sister, MaryEllen Forsyth.

She was a proud graduate of Adams High School, Class of 1956, and spent many years working at Woolworth's, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly nature.

Barbara found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved camping, reading, researching her family genealogy, and tackling puzzles of all kinds. Her curiosity, patience, and love for learning stayed with her throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving children, Doug Beachey and Darlene Barnes; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, Don (Annette) VanHulle a brother-in-law Stan Forsyth, and numerous nieces and nephews' friends and associates.  Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, allowing her legacy to live on through the many lives she touched.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana.
