Barbara Ann Kavas, 79, of Elkhart, died on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.  She was born in Elkhart, Indiana on October 19, 1938 to George L. and Mildred (Miller) Keck.  On September 15, 1956, Barbara married the love of her life, James Kavas.  Barbara worked in Customer Service for Pioneer Products and enjoyed bowling and yard work.  She loved her family and socializing with them at picnics and various gatherings.  Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James; her sons, Randy (Debbie) Kavas of Cincinnati, Ohio and Kevin Kavas of Elkhart; two grandchildren; a brother, Gary (Cindy) Keck;and a half-brother, Mike Leist.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, David Keck; .  Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5-8 PM in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561.  A funeral in Barbara's honor will be on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10 AM with calling one hour prior.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 E 91st St #100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
