Barbara A. Wetter, 82, of South Bend, died Saturday March 18, 2017. She was born in South Bend on March 16, 1935, the second of eleven children of Peter Kalber & Helen (Carr) Kalber Dorman. Barbara was a US Army veteran and later worked as a Nurse''s Aide for The Sisters of the Holy Cross. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, enjoyed trying her luck at an occasional trip to the casinos and loved being the family''s "dog-sitter" for Kandy, Kati, Pete, Pongo, Jewel & Princess. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Michael John Grembowicz and her siblings, Bill Howe, Jim Kalber, Kathy Kalber, Karen Kalber and Mary Vida. She is survived by her children, June Kalber and JoAnn (Henry) Heritz, both of South Bend and Thomas (Kristi) Wetter, Jr. of Elkhart; grandchildren, Melissa Velez & Joseph Velez, both of South Bend; great-grandchildren, Tierra M. West, Jordan G. Velez, Cornell T. Dowdy III, Aleecia M. Granado, Sofia E. Velez, Taraious "Terez" Ford, Joseph M. Velez, Jr. and Ta''nya H. Ford; siblings, Nancy Collins of South Bend, David (Teresa) Kalber of Terre Haute, Daniel (Lenore) Kalber of Milbank SD, Helen Martinez of Bedford, George (Melissa) Kalber of Bedford and her sister-in-law, Gloria Kalber of South Bend. Funeral Services 10:00 Friday, March 24, 2017 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. with calling one hour prior to services. Calling also on Thursday from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
