Barry J. Caldwell, 73, of Elkhart died Friday February 10, 2012. The Page, WV native was born on December 14, 1938 to Elza E. & Minnie I. (Radford) Caldwell. Barry was a veteran of the US Army and on February 27, 1971 he married Elaine A. Jones. He retired in 2011 from AACOA, Inc. after 30 years of service. Barry enjoyed NASCAR, camping in their motorhome, working around the house and in the yard, and his dogs, Susie & Speedway.
Barry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elaine A. Caldwell; his daughters, Deborah Appling of Scarboro, WV, Karen L. (John) St. Germain of Elkhart and Carla A. (Jeff Munger) Norris of Goshen; his son, Barry J. (Robin) Caldwell, Jr. of South Bend; nephew, Todd Schrock of Columbia City; grandchildren, Dora Phelps, Jesse Martinez, Mario Martinez and Tony Martinez, all of South Bend, Amy Reecer, Timothy Reecer and Jason Reecer, all of Elkhart, Zachary Norris and Jacob Norris, both of Goshen; ten great-grandchildren and his sisters, Elizabeth (Donald) Davis of Portsmouth, VA and Elva Schrock of Elkhart.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday February 14, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. with Rev. Daniel Gelatt officiating. Friends may call Monday 2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors.
