Beatrice Josephine (Smoot-Birr) Toth, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Fort Lupton, Colorado.

Beatrice was born on June 18, 1940, in Ligonier, Indiana, to the late Lloyd and Rachel (Long) Smoot. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Toth, her siblings: Roy Smoot, Julia Ann Holsomback, Lloyd Smoot Jr., Walter Eugene Smoot, Martha Lou Miller, Terry Lee Smoot, and Dale Edward Smoot.

Beatrice will be remembered for her love of golfing, a pastime she truly enjoyed and that brought her happiness throughout her life. She retired from Miles/Bayer in Elkhart after 40 years of service. She was an active member of High Plains Harvest Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Greg Birr (Dawn) of Nappanee and Randy Birr of Elkhart; her grandchildren, Gabby Trevino (Oscar), Reagan Birr, Mitchell Birr, Courtney Neal, and Jared Birr (MaKenna); her siblings, Anna Darlene Morris, Betty Maxine Weed, Carolyn Sue Wenger, Arthur Lee Smoot (Evie), her first husband Ronald Birr, and her stepsons, Darren Toth and Robert Toth.

Beatrice's memory will live on through the many lives she touched with her quiet strength, love of family, and enjoyment of life's simple pleasures.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday April 6th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561.
