ELKHART- Berdie Tinsley 83 passed away at Hospice House Elkhart Friday morning. She was born in Southside Tennessee to Branch and Mattie(Reynolds)Murphy. Berdie has lived in the Mishiana area most of her life. She met James Tinsley and together they would spend the last forty years together. Berdie was a production worker in the mobile home manufacturing industry before becoming a full time housewife. Some of her favorite things to do were gardening and taking care of flowers and crafts and even mowing the yard. She will be remembered best by the homemade dressing she made, also the ham and beans and cornbread she loved to eat. Berdie is survived by spouse James two daughters Martha Swaw, Susie Wise and one son Billy Groves three grandchildren David(Beth) Swaw, Tammy Swaw and Susan Groves and three great-grandchildren Casey Swaw, Frankie Swaw and Ashley Groves. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant granddaughter Sherry and one grandson Jimmy Bubba Groves four brothers and three sisters. There will be a gathering of friends and family Tuesday May 31, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Highway Osceola IN.46561 from 12:00pm-2:00pm with a funeral starting immediately after at 2:00pm with Pastor Bob Vale officiating entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family's preferred memorial is ADEC 19670 IN.120 Bristol IN 46507 in Tammy Swaw's name.
