Bernerd W. Gropp, 84, of Osceola, died Sunday May 20, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Fountainview in Mishawaka. Born in Mishawaka on November 4, 1927 to John F.C. and Lida Mae (Brown) Gropp. He attended Mishawaka High School. Bernerd was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Japan during WWII. On November 4, 1951, he married Arena C. Watts. A member of Teamsters Local #364, Bernerd was a truck driver for 40 years and retired from Central Transport. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #1167. Bernerd is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arena C. Gropp; son, Ned S. Gropp of Mishawaka; son, Bernerd W. Gropp, Jr. of Mishawaka; daughter, Kristina (Glen) Molnar of Elkhart; son, Kenneth J. (Janet) Gropp of Mishawaka; brother, Roger (Karen) Gropp in Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services 10:00AM Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, with Rev. Robert Vale officiating. Friends may call Wednesday 4-8pm in the funeral home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
