Betty Jo Carter, age 67, of Elkhart, passed away at her home on May 18, 2011. Betty was born August 25, 1943 in Evansville, Indiana to Cecil A. and Elizabeth (Scott) Duncan. On December 16, 1967, Betty married Charles R. Carter in South Bend, Indiana. Both her father Cecil and her husband Charles as well as her brother, Tom Duncan preceded her in death.
Surviving is her mother Elizabeth of Elkhart, her children Ben (Ronna) Vanator and Russ (Carol) Vanator, both of Mishawaka, Sam (Venus) Carter and Todd (Laura) Carter, both of Elkhart, and Beth (Randy) Pruett of Osceola. Surviving as well are 2 step-children, Keith (Jamie) Carter of South Bend, and Tina (Tim) Warren of Illinois. Betty is survived also by 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Friends may gather at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola on Saturday, May 21, 2011, one half hour prior to the Noon graveside service in the Garden of The Last Supper on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
