IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Jean
Denman
October 13, 1951 – November 8, 2025
Betty Jean Denman, 74, of Osceola, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 13, 1951, in Plymouth, Indiana, Betty was the daughter of the late George and Cleo Alice (Davis) Reaker. She was a proud graduate of Bremen High School. Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Hunt, and brothers, John and Roger Reaker.
On May 6, 1968, in Bremen, Betty married the love of her life, Steven Paul Denman. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. Betty worked for many years as a school bus driver for Elkhart Community Schools, where her kindness and sense of humor made her a favorite among students and colleagues alike.
Betty had a zest for life and a creative spirit. She loved sewing, crocheting, and spending time outdoors working in her yard. She also enjoyed ceramics, motorcycles, and hot rods — passions that reflected her fun-loving and independent nature.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Steven Denman; her son, Shane Paul Denman; grandson, Steven Shane (Samantha) Denman; great-granddaughter, Stevie-Jean Marie; and two brothers, Sonny (Dar) Reaker and Ronnie Reaker.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, November 13th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Greg Crump.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2026 to honor Betty's joyful spirit and the love she shared with all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity or organization meaningful to Betty — such as the American Heart Association, the Humane Society, or a local community cause.
Betty will be remembered for her loving heart, laughter that filled every room, and the warmth she gave so freely to family and friends. Her legacy of love and strength will continue to shine through those who knew her best.
