Osceola – Betty Joan May, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a period of declining health.

Betty was born on January 26, 1936, in Hartford Village, Michigan, to the late Carl and Gwendolyn Evelyn (Lutin) Wiese.

She met the love of her life, David L. May Sr., and the couple was united in marriage on February 20, 1954, in Mishawaka, IN. Together they shared many years of love and devotion until his passing. Betty was also preceded in death by her son, Brian May; her brothers, Wayne Wiese and Michael Valentine; and her sister, Carol Brant.

Betty is survived by her loving sons, David (Joelyn) May and Gary May; her grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) May, Cheryl May, Jon (Ruth) May, and Shannon (Jon) May; and her great-grandchildren, Gabby Tittle, Kharington May, Regan May, Tom May, and Sam May, Geremy May and Russell May. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memories.

Betty worked as a laboratory technician for many years before her retirement from Whitehall Industries.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Her kindness, strength, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
