Betty J. Short, 80, of Edwardsburg, died Sunday November 17, 2013 at home, surrounded by family. The Quincy WV native was born November 21, 1932 to Denny S. & Ora E. (Montgomery) Gibson. Betty was devoted to her family and enjoyed reading, garage sales, country music, cooking and sitting for her grandbabies. She had retired from Jackson Manufacturing. Betty fought a hard battle, but was always smiling; to her family she was their inspiration, their strength & love, who will be missed by all who crossed her path. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Short. Survivors include her children, Sharon (Perry) Barnett of Gay WV, Darlene White of Union MI, William (Reta) White of Edwardsburg MI, Diana (Tommy) Lester of Goshen, Linda (Terry) McCoy of Ripley WV, Patti (Mark) Hurley of Edwardsburg; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services 2:00 Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8pm in the funeral home.
