Betty J. Spenner, 76, of South Bend, passed away at 1:30 pm, Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Memorial Hospital.
Betty was the youngest of 12 siblings, born Betty Jean Overmyer on April 10, 1936. Betty was a 1955 graduate of Edwardsburg High School. In December of that same year, she married Richard "Rich" D. Spenner. From this union came forth three sons and three daughters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Richard; sons, Fred Spenner of South Bend, Robert (Hope) Spenner of Centreville, MI, and daughters, Kathy Spenner of Mishawaka, Janine (Lomond) Fairley of Mishawaka and Sandra (Shawn) Manning of Hobart, IN. Another son, David A. Spenner preceded her in death on July 22, 1992. Five grandchildren survive Betty and they are Beth, Adriene, Richard, Patrick and Heather. Additional survivors include two great great grandchildren.
Betty was an avid reader of books, it being her favorite pastime. Among her other interests were watching movies on Turner Classics and programs on Animal Planet. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, and up until she was no longer able, she thoroughly enjoyed preparing and serving Sunday and holiday dinners to her family.
There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will take place at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
