MISHAWAKA- Betty Edwards 84 , passed away Wednesday at her home surrounded by family following an illness. Betty was born in Truman, Arkansas to Dick and Jocie(Bruce)Wayne. After moving to the Michiana area as a young adult, she would spend the rest of her life here. Betty married Lewis "Frank" Edwards on August 27, 1953. She enjoyed making quilts, embroidering and crocheting as she was quite an arts and crafts person. Betty was known as a dependable, hard working person after spending 30 years on 3rd shift at S.B. Plastics before retiring in 1997. Betty was a very giving and caring person but her greatest love of all were her children and grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, son David Barnes, Sr., daughter Victoria(Dave)Doi, six brothers and four sisters. She is survived by son Frank Edwards, daughter Carolyn(Bill)Long, grandchildren, William(Lynn)Long, Erica(Jeff)Lindke, Frank(Tiffany)Long, David(Diane)Barnes JR., Blaine(Stephanie)Tiller, Jeremy(Jay)Tiller and Star Barnes, twenty two great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and three sisters. A gathering of friends and family will be Monday March 21, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Highway Osceola IN. 46561 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm with a funeral service starting at 2:00PM at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Vale officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
