IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverlie E.
Ditsch
June 20, 1959 – October 31, 2023
Beverlie E. Ditsch, 64, of Cassopolis, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday October 31, 2023 in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was born on June 20, 1959 in Mishawaka, IN to Joseph Franklin and Rose (Deeb) Jernigan. She married Terry Ditsch on June 11, 1979 and they have spent 46 years growing together and loving each other.
Bev is survived by her husband, Terry; a son, Michael (Connie) Ditsch of South Bend; a daughter, Liddy (Matthew) Buwa of Edwardsburg, MI; a daughter-in-law Tammy Ditsch of South Bend; 12 grandchildren, Robert Hickman (Kayla), Montana Hickman , Dakota Ditsch, Matthew Ditsch, Robert Ditsch, Rose Ditsch, Hannah Dahmen(Billy), Chelsea Philpot, Madisyn Philpot, Myah Buwa, and Hunter Buwa.
6 great grandchildren.
3 sisters: Christine Elaine Jernigan (Sam) Panagiotis, Elizabeth Trench, Lorraine (Tim) Hubbard;
Sister-in-law Susanna MacDonald (John)
She was very close to her family and friends including her brother-in-law August (Brenda) and the cousin she grew up with Mark Deeb (John) of Michigan City, IN.
When she married, she was accepted into the family immediately and developed a very close bond with her "married in" cousins.
She recently went through the heartache of losing her son Joshua David Ditsch and granddaughter Beverly Jane Ditsch in a tragic accident in August. She was very shaken by this loss and it may have contributed to her heart trouble.
She retired from AM General Corp. where she had developed many working friends.
She worked with severe and profoundly handicapped kids at McKinley
School in south Bend.
She was the shoe dept manager at the local Venture store.
She was the author of the best selling local author book, The Retirement Curse, at Barnes and Noble.
Her kids and grandkids and recently her great grandkids were a major part of her life and she devoted a lot of time and effort to them.
Bev was heavily involved in Eastside Little League of South Bend when her kids were young. She served on the the executive board and was in charge of all registration for many years. She also helped the league establish a new home.
She was an avid sports fan. Notre Dame football and Women's basketball, the Cubs and recently getting into the Bears. She loved all sports really.
She loved reading, sewing, gardening, swimming and mowing her property with her big tractor.
Beverlie enjoyed life and enjoyed making people laugh. She was loved, respected and well liked. We shall miss her deeply.
Life did not treat her fair in the last two years spending almost as much time in the hospital as at home. But she was a trooper who always smiled and made her Doctors and nurses smile/laugh. She would surely like to thank them all.
