Beverly Ann (

Frick) Doty, 85, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Beverly was born April 6, 1937, in Valparaiso, IN, to Dr. Charles Harold Frick and Bennye (Amick) Frick. She graduated from James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg, VA, and attended the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, for one year.

While a high school senior, she and two friends went to a USO dance and it was there she met James Doty, who was in the Army. They were married within a year on July 2, 1956 in Fredericksburg, and made their home in Elkhart, where Jim was from. Beverly worked for Bendix until her children were born.

She was a homemaker and a mother and thoroughly enjoyed those roles. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in LWML, Little Lights Bible program and Vacation Bible School. She also enjoyed helping with the LWML's Braille workers and making quilts for children in the hospital. Beverly loved to read, especially mysteries and really enjoyed the book club through the Elkhart Public Library.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James "Jim" S. Doty; three children, James H. (Chris) Doty of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ann M. (Greg) Suetkamp of Osceola and Michael H. Doty of Elkhart; six grandchildren, Alicia (Jared) Ortner of Slater, Iowa, Holly (Jason) Bailey of Osceola, Rebekah Suetkamp of Osceola, Andrea (John) Futa of Mishawaka, Amber Doty of Cedar Rapids, and Gregory Suetkamp of Osceola; and 11 great-grandchildren, Alex, Brielle, Benjamin, Nick, Eden, Jameson, Brooklynne, Grace, Maren, Everly and Makenzie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles Hampton Frick; and her great-granddaughter, Adleigh Suetkamp.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday Aug. 4, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy. Osceola, IN 46561.

A funeral service in her honor will be on Friday Aug. 5 at the funeral home at 11 AM, with visitation one hour prior.  Reverend Ted Stanley will officiate.

Entombment will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
