Obituary

Billie R. Kniffin, 82, of Elkhart died on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.  The Detroit, Michigan native was born on January 5, 1936 to (the late) William and Edna (Miller) Ray.  She graduated from Jimtown High School and on May 4, 1962, she married Seth Kniffin in Elkhart.  Billie worked as a Secretary for Elkhart Community Schools in the Pupil Services Department for many years and was a member of the Osceola United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of the Red Hatters, Promise Keepers, and the GED Department Lunch group.  Billie was an avid reader and loved to go shopping.  She is survived by her children, Craig (Rachel Doctors) Kniffin of Springfield IL, Jacquie (Neil) Farr of Granger, Curtis (Maryann) Kniffin in Florida, Lynne Kniffin Williams of Elkhart; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ray Schenk of Goshen; several nieces and nephews including Mark Schenk of San Antonio TX, Brad Schenk of Myrtle Beach SC and Greg Schenk of Goshen; and dear friends, John and Sue Steckley of Elkhart.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Seth; and a sister Faye Ray Schenk.  Funeral Services are at 11:00 AM Friday, November 30, 2018 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana 46561, where friends may call prior to services, from 10-11 AM. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 4-7 PM in the funeral home. The family's preferred memorial is Osceola United Methodist Church, 431 N Beech Rd, Osceola, IN 46561.
