Billy J. Lane, age 52, of Elkhart, passed away at his residence on Friday, August 24, 2012. Billy was born June 9, 1960 in Casey County, Kentucky to Hubert Sr. and Shirley (Hodge) Lane.
Surviving are his children, Stephanie R. Lane of Osceola, Indiana Stacie Lane of Elkhart, Indiana and Matthew (Danja) Schrader of Summersville, West Virginia as well his mother, Shirley Lane of Cincinnati, Ohio. Surviving also are 6 grandchildren; Jalen young, Nevaeh Lane, Donovan Schrader, Brycen Schrader, Jailyn Schrader, and Shailyn Schrader. Also surviving are his siblings, Larry Lane of Cincinnati, Ohio, Loretta Lane of Fairfield, Ohio, Denise Aleshire of Sardinia, Ohio, and Hubert Lane Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as 15 nieces and nephews. Billy was preceded in death by his father Hubert, and a brother Delbert Lane.
There will be no visitation or services at this time/and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Billy was a dedicated and exceptional truck driver for 30 years. Though he spent many years on the road, he was able to spend quality time with his family and loved ones in the later years. He was also a loving father, brother, son and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Billy was a devoted fan of the Indianapolis Colts, no matter the score, and a dedicated fan of NASCAR, following the #24 car of Jeff Gordon.
