R. Brooks Ohse, 70, died Monday January 9, 2012 at home. Brooks was born March 10, 1941 in Looneyville, WV to Cecil and Azeleen (Bowen) Ohse, who have preceded him in death. He was a 1959 graduate of Cedar Grove High School and he married Patricia Aldridge on November 24, 1966 in Bremen, IN. Brooks retired in 2002 as a machinist for Elkhart Products Corp. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Brooks enjoyed watching westerns and NASCAR, was a member of the NRA and also enjoyed caring for his dog, Bridget. In addition to his parents, Brooks was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ohse in 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Christinea (Dana O''Haver) Ohse of Goshen; his son, Christopher Ohse of Elkhart; his grandsons, Keith Smith and Joseph Smith, both of Goshen and his sisters, Linda (Steve) Hall and Jean (Albert) Perry, both of Summersville, WV.
Memorial Service 11:00 Monday, January 16, 2012 in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Larry Sonnenberg officiating. Arrangements through Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
