Carl Estep, 83 of Elkhart, died Saturday September 19, 2015. The Elkhart native was born January 8, 1932 to William & Mary (Waterman) Estep. On January 9, 1950 he married Evelyn Long in Elkhart. Carl retired as the Meat Merchandiser for Wilt''s Supermarkets and later worked for Chipco in product delivery and was a goodwill ambassador for the company. He was a member of the First Brethren Church of Elkhart and was a very sociable person; he enjoyed RV camping and an occasional visit to the casinos with friends, Cubs baseball, family barbecues and looking after his dogs, Cali & Cami. Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Evelyn Estep; his children, Tom (Marcia) Estep and Steven (Judy) Estep, both of Elkhart, Mark (Vickie) Estep of Cassopolis MI and Chip (Carol) Estep of Union MI; his grandchildren, Christy Estep & Kenzie Estep, both of Elkhart, Rev. Jeff (Jamie) Estep of New Paris, Matt Estep of Millersburg, Joshua Estep of Columbus OH, Jessica Dickison of Cassopolis MI, Melissa (Destry) Brown & Erica Estep, both of Jacksonville FL, Evan Estep of Terre Haute and 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate Carl''s life will be held at 4:00 Friday, September 25, 2015 in the First Brethren Church of Elkhart, 24197 E. CR16, with Rev. Dan Herendeen and Rev. Jeff Estep officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services in the church.
