Carl Harroff, age 72, of Bristol, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. Carl was born June 26, 1942 to the late Emmett and Gertrude (Gast) Harroff in Galien, Michigan. Following his graduation from High School, Carl joined the Navy and served honorably from 1961-1965. When he returned home from the service, he married Laura Kanous in Galien, Michigan on August 21, 1965.
Laura survives, along with their children, Jeff (Rickie) Harroff of Goshen, and Katrina (Kenny) Scheetz of Mishawaka. Their son Charles "Chuck" Harroff preceded Carl in death. He is also survived by his sister Helen (Mike) O''Bryant of Edwardsburg, Michigan, a granddaughter Heather (Scott) Kidder and two great granddaughters, Hannah and Chloe.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 2:00 pm funeral service on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment and military honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Carl loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was also an excellent artist, and enjoyed tying flies for his fly fishing excursions. Carl''s natural curiosity led him to read and learn about many different things, which kept him busy helping others most of the time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Disabled American Veterans or Radiant Life Church.
