Carl J. Horvath, 56, of Niles, lost his battle with cancer on Friday morning, April 29, 2016. The South Bend native was born August 13, 1959 to Carl & Helen (Molnar) Horvath and on July 1, 1978 he married Lori A. Pulaski (Horvath) in South Bend. Carl was a perfectionist and that trait was reflected in his work of over 30 years as a carpenter, in construction & remodeling. He loved woodworking and built many one-of-a-kind items that will continue to be cherished by his family. Carl also enjoyed the outdoors; fishing or riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was devoted to his family & friends and cherished the time spent with his granddaughter. Carl will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Horvath and is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lori Horvath of Niles and their children; Beth (Daniel) Moench of LaPorte and Ryan Horvath of Niles; his granddaughter, Jocelyn Horvath; his mother, Helen Horvath of South Bend; brother, Julius (Judie) Horvath of South Bend; sisters, Helen (Larry) Cencelewski of South Bend, Livia (Gary) Dawson in California, Ethel (Bill) LaVelle of Niles and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A gathering of family & friends to remember Carl will be held from 4-7pm Friday May 6, 2016 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy.
