Carmel E. "Bob" Fernatt, 73, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:40 am, Sunday, January 23, 2011 in Elkhart General Hospital. Bob was born on December 20, 1937 in Hugheston, WV, the son of Herbert and Sarah (Lanham) Fernatt. On May 8, 1958, he married Lora Hudnall. She passed away on May 19, 1993. He is also preceded in death by a son, Tim Fernatt.
Bob is survived by four children, Rick Fernatt, Diana Gibson, Sandy (Mark) Rodgers and Dan Fernatt, all of Elkhart, eight grandchildren, Ashley, Lora, Sarah, James, Andrea, Amy, Emily and Mary and four great grandchildren, Kyle, Luke, Evan and Natalie. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Mease of Cedar Grove, WV.
Bob worked for Vincent-Bach for 36 years before his retirement in 2001. He was currently the owner of My Dad''s Place in Elkhart and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #395 of Elkhart.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
