On November 8, 2016 Carol Ann McNamara passed away after a brief illness. She was born on April 24, 1941 to Guy and Clementine Hood in Mishawaka, IN. On November 17, 1962 she married John McNamara. She was proceeded in death by her parents.
Carol is survived by her devoted and loving husband of almost 54 years, John; Her sisters BJ (Bob) O''Brien, Osceola, IN, and Betty Sue Whitson, Mishawaka, IN and her brother, Jack (Sally) Hood, Osceola, IN.
Also mourning the loss of their mom are: five children, Kevin (Mary) McNamara, Osceola, IN, Patrick (Colleen) McNamara, South Bend, IN , Megan McNamara, South Bend, IN, Kelly (Bill) White, Rocky River, OH, and Kerry (Joe L) Biernacki, Mishawaka, IN.
Nana (Grandma) cherished every moment with her 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The grandchildren were so important to her and getting to spend as much time as possible with them all was a blessing every day. Her grandchildren are: Danny O''Brien, Casey O''Brien, Brittany Kidd, Katie McNamara, Catilin (Chad) Swinehart, Zach Kidd, Tim McNamara, Colin McNamara, Brendan McNamara, Murphy O''Brien, Maddie McNamara, Conor McNamara, Briege O''Brien, Annie McNamara, Molly McNamara, Keagan O''Brien, Brady Biernacki, Mason Biernacki and great grandson Easton Wolford.
Carol loved her family deeply including her many nieces and nephews who grew up right alongside her children in the "Hoodsville" compound. She spent most of her life growing up in the Osceola and Mishawaka area going to St. Monica''s and Mishawaka High School, before moving to South Bend, IN.
Family and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, November 10th from 4-8pm in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN 46561. A Catholic mass celebrating Carol''s life will be held at 11am on Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Rd, Granger, IN 46530 with Msgr. William Schooler presiding.
