Caroline Sue Bowman, age 74, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Regency Place in South Bend. Caroline was born May 17, 1937 to the late Andrew and Fayette (Rankin) McKesson in Culver, Indiana. On August 13, 1965, she married Jack Bowman in Georgia. He preceded her in death, passing away in October of 2008.
Surviving are her sons, David L. Bowman of South Bend, and Gary D (Leslie) Bowman of Naperville, IL. Also surviving are her step sons Jack C. (Kim) Bowman Jr. of South Bend, and Allen R. (Jackie) Bowman of Oklahoma. Caroline is survived as well by 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, as well as her siblings, Jane Emmons, Mae Hatfield, and Joan Mayers. She was preceded in death by her brother Ira McKesson, and sisters Fayette Crispin, Mary Barr and Ruth White.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, October 28, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Caroline was employed for over ten years at EFP Corporation in Elkhart prior to her retirement. She enjoyed playing BINGO, holding and attending yard sales, going to the Moose Lodge, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she spoiled rotten.
