ELKHART -Carolyn L. Dozier, 77, of Elkhart, passed away early Saturday morning January 6, 2018. Carolyn was born March 17, 1940 in Elizabethton, TN to the late Hal and Estella (Taylor) Perry. She was a dedicated mother, very strong, independent, and lived life on her own terms. Carolyn was an excellent cook and was sure to have a hot meal for her children every night while they were growing up. Her family would tell you that nothing beat her homemade fried chicken. She was also very athletic and enjoyed walking with her sons. Ms. Dozier was an active member of McCoy Memorial Baptist Church in Elkhart. She rarely missed a service and was close in her faith. Carolyn is survived by her sons, Rob and Terry Dozier; daughter, Glenda (Bill) Reed; brother, Jerry (Pam) Perry; sisters, Theresa Riedl, Maxine Rust, and Sue Pirtle; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Danny, Wade, Edwin, & Bud Perry, along with two sisters, Freda Kyte & Emma Cox. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday January 10, 2018 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy with Pastor Ray Laborde presiding.
