Cecil M. Joiner, age 81, of Mishawaka passed away on February 24, 2017 at 10:04 PM in Hospice House, South Bend, IN. He was born March 16, 1935 to Homer and Mary Sue (Risner) Joiner in Florence, Alabama. On November 22, 1956, Cecil married Betty Ledgewood. She survives. Mr. Joiner worked at Uniroyal as an electrician for 33 years and retired in 1990. He then worked for the University Of Notre Dame in the Library for 17 years retiring in 2012. Cecil found great pleasure in "tinkering" in the garage, repairing anything he could. Cecil is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; his children, Debbie (Terry) Hembrecht and Kay (Ed) Hutkins both of Mishawaka; 4 grandchildren, Tara (Anthony) Paiano, Justin (Jamie) Hembrecht, Melissa Hutkins, and Michelle (Nick) Szalay; 8 great grandchildren, Abbie, Maya, Camille, Tyler, Joshua, Dylan, Nicholas, and Lola; his sister, Jimmie Sue Parrish of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Glenn Joiner. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 with the funeral service beginning at 8 PM with Neil Davis officiating.
