Charles Eugene "Chuck" Allen, age 91, of Osceola, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at Kindred Valley View Nursing Home. Chuck was born June 20, 1923 in Jasonville, Indiana to the late Charles W. and Jessie (Neal) Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Allen, his children, James Jordan, Toni Aldridge, and his siblings Rex and Rita.
Survivors include his children Toby (Terrell) Personette of South Bend, Larry (Cheryl) Carlysle of Massachusetts, Terry Jordan of Portage, Indiana and Debra Hensley of Osceola. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as his brother, Jim (Jane) Allen and sister Hester Landis.
There will be no visitation or services. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Chuck enlisted in the US Air Force in 1942 and served as a tail gunner during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Chuck was employed for many years with the Studebaker Corporation and after it closed, became a truck driver until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife Betty. Chuck also loved reading, playing cards, working on cars, and building things. He was also a longtime member of the VFW Post #360 and the American Legion Post #308.
