C. David Gableman, 71, of Elkhart, died Sunday August 24, 2014 at IU Health - Goshen Hospital. The Elkhart native was born December 3, 1942 to Charles H. and Pauline (Westfall) Gableman, who have both preceded him in death. Dave retired from Elkhart Community Schools, also having previously worked for Excel Industries and AACOA in Elkhart. Dave was a proud Vietnam veteran who loved his God, his family, Notre Dame Football and his long-time friends at "My Dad''s Place" - Yabba Dabba DooHubba Hubba! He is survived by his sister, Sue (Terry) Montague of Elkhart, brother, John Gableman of Cassopolis, MI and his nieces & nephews, Chuck (Susan) Gableman of Lake Worth FL, Ryan (Shanna) Gableman of White Pigeon MI, John Ross (Honna) Gableman of Vandalia MI Brittany (Cory) Marlow of Vandalia and Terilyn Montague of South Bend. Memorial Service 11:00 Thursday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. where friends may call one hour prior to services.
