OSCEOLA- Charles R. Heston, Jr., passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his family on April 14, 2018. Charles was born May 13, 1965, Mishawaka, IN to Charles R. Heston, Sr. and Carol Gerondale. After many years of knowing each other, Charles wed Theresa Mejer in South Bend on June 23, 2007. Charles proudly served his country for 12 years in the United States Army. Mr. Heston lived life to the fullest and stayed very involved in the community as a volunteer firefighter for over 13 years. He volunteered with numerous fire stations throughout St. Joseph County as well as Cleveland & Baugo townships in Elkhart County. He was also a huge Green Bay Packers and Michigan fan. He loved the outdoors and would camp with Theresa at Rogers Resort in Jones, MI. He especially adored going fishing with his beloved granddaughter, Chloe. Charles will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Mr. Heston is survived by his loving wife, Theresa; daughter, Heather Heston; sons, Stephen (Veronica Smuda) Mejer, and Andrew "Pooky" Lawson; mother, Carol Gerondale; brother, Chris (Kim) Heston; sisters, Cheri (Chris) Sparkman, Cindy (Rod) Vander Zand, and Carrie (Wally) Janssen; daughter-in-law, Brandie Mejer, and granddaughter, Chloe. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Heston, Sr. Friends may call Wed. April 18 ^th , from 5pm-8pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home located at 10776 McKinley Hwy in Osceola. Funeral services for Charles will be held 10am, Thurs. April 19 ^th at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
