Charles Otis Perry, 78, of Elkhart, passed away at 3:56 am, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in Elkhart General Hospital surrounded by family. Charles was born on May 23, 1934 in Covington, KY, the son of the late Otis and Catherine (Young) Perry. On October 10, 1992, he married Barbara "Chris" Kovatch.
He is survived by his loving wife, Chris; two daughters, Cindi Snyder and Cheryl (Don) Wogomon, both of Elkhart; five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister, Carol Mullins of Dayton, OH and brother George Johnson of Mitchellsburg, KY, as well as a large extended family.
Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He owned Perry''s Service Center in Roseland for many years and also delivered the South Bend Tribune. He loved to sing and was part of the gospel quartet, Happy Choraleers and the barber shop quartet, South Bend Mishawaka Valleyairs.
Visitation will take place from 12:00-1:00 pm, Friday, August 3, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, with funeral services to be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
