MISHAWAKA , IN- Charles "Chuck" R. Wiard, age 86, passed away on June 18 , 2019 at Elkhart Hospice House .

He was born December 4, 1932 in Warsaw , Indiana to the late Norman and Ruth ( Moore ) Wiard . Chuck was inducted into the United States Army on March 5, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana . He served during the Korean War and was ho norably discharged on January 31, 1955 with receiving the National Defense Service Medal , United Nations Service Medal, and Korean Service Ribbon . Chuck worked as an Electrician before he retired . He e njoyed f ishing , hunting, gardening, and spending time with family.

Chuck is survived by his children , Jeff Wiard of South Bend, IN, Barry (Julia) Wiard of Wolcottville, IN, Sonya (Tom) Shepard of Brentwood, TN, and Tonya (Dave) Adamson of South Bend; grandchildren, Drew, Brittany, Christopher, Cassandra, Corinn, Caroline, and Camrin; great grandchildren, Bailee, Maxton, Delaney, Lily, Levi, and Faelyn ; brother, Paul Wiard of Claypool, IN; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Wiard; parents; sister Norma; and brother, Norman.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday June 25 , 2019 10:00 a .m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Osceola, Indiana 46561. Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday June 24, 2019 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
