Obituary

NILES, MI- Charles Schliesman, 77, passed away Saturday morning at his home after being under the care of Hospice. Charles was born to Charles and Dorothy (Foutz) Schliesman in Hamilton, OH. Charles had lived in the Michiana area most of his life except for the years he spent in Florida from 2004 - 2012 Florida was his favorite place to be. He married Barbara Wilson in April of 1974. The loves of his life was his wife, Barbara, his children and all of his grandchildren. Charles is survived by wife, Barbara, son, James Jennings, daughters, Bonnie Jacobs and Karen Warman, four grandchildren, Tiffany, Jason, Ashley and Nichole along with nine great-grandchildren. In his younger years some of Charles favorite things to do was ride dirt bikes on trails, he drag raced at the Osceola Drag strip in his "black camaro." He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors in Florida and being out in the sun when he lived in Florida. Charles was a fantastic wordworker, he did an exceptional job making a doll house for his granddaughter. The family said it took a lot to make Charles laugh but that was just Charles being Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley, Osceola, IN 46561 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm with a memorial service immediately starting at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bob Vale.
