Charles Wesley Woolwine

March 23, 1942 – January 28, 2020

Elkhart – Charles Wesley Woolwine, 77, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on the morning of Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in Indianapolis.

Charles was born on March 23, 1942 in Belle, West Virginia to the late Dorsey and Sylvia (Jones) Woolwine. Charles was also preceded in death by brothers, Bobby and Paul.

On July 16, 1960, Charles married Patricia S. (Stewart).  She survives along with sons, Tod (Diana), Charles (Diana) and Dale (Jennifer); daughter, Tina (Michael) Shanholt; grandchildren, Michelle, Steven, Angela, Camron, Brianna, and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Gabe and Eli; brother, Jr., and sisters, Mary (Arnold) Musick, Loretta Riddle, and Sandy Johnson.

Charles honorably served his country in the US Navy.  He was a welder and Group Leader at Dexter Axle for 45 years before retiring in 2008. Charles spent most of his time fishing but also enjoyed hunting, playing cards and bowling.  When he was not fishing, he enjoyed watching Westerns and war movies.

Family and friends may gather from 9:00am to 11:00am on Friday, January 31, 2020 in CHAPEL HILL FUNERAL HOME 10776 McKinley Hwy, in Osceola before the burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The US Navy will provide Charles with a Military Services at the graveside.
