Charlie L. Thrasher, 77, of Edwardsburg, MI, died Thursday October 27, 2016. The Iron City, Tenn. native was born Aug 21, 1939 to Thomas D. & Fleety (Dodd) Thrasher. Charlie served his country in the US Air Force and was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 19 in Elkhart & the American Legion Post #143 in Bristol and was a member of the Elkhart County Community Baptist Church. He loved his work as an owner/operator and retired after 50 years in trucking. Charlie cherished the time spent with family & friends, he had a wonderful personality that quickly made friends from strangers; he enjoyed all sports, especially football, boxing and NASCAR. In addition to his parents, Charlie was also preceded in death by his brothers, Aaron & Arlie, and his sister, Viora. Survivors include his wife, Mary Thrasher; his children, Charlie L. (Trisha) Thrasher, Jr.& Threasa Thrasher, both of Elkhart and Tracy Thrasher of Colorado Springs CO; step-children, Dolores Edwards & Barbara Ann (Bill) Stoner, both of Elkhart and Cynthia Hunt of Edwardsburg; his brother, Willie (Faye) Thrasher of Okeechobee FL; sister, Mary Finchum of Mishawaka; 17 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services 2:00 Tuesday November 1, 2016 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. with calling one hour prior to services. Calling also Monday from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
