Cheryl Lee Basham, 68 years young, of Edwardsburg, Michigan passed away from natural causes at 7:30 pm in her home in Edwardsburg, Michigan surrounded by family on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home at 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, Indiana, 46561. A Celebration of Life will commence following the visitation at 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home where we will gather to share in our rejoicing of Cheryl's life with us. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens following a procession from the Funeral Home after the rejoicing. Cheryl was born September 19, 1954 in Mishawaka, Indiana as the 1 st child of John F. Basham and Sharon L. (Bryan) Basham. Cheryl shared here middle name, Lee, with her mom which she was proud of. She was joined in life with a brother, Scott, and 2 sisters, Shelley and Tracey and they all enjoyed their priceless summer trips with their parents; where they enjoyed parts of the US only their dad could find. Cheryl enjoyed houseback riding, crocheting, and sewing. She later married Les Ferguson who they shared a daughter with, Rachel Ferguson, where they lived in Texas and then Delaware. Following Rachel's death at a young age, Cheryl moved back to her hometown of Edwardsburg to spend more time with her parents and siblings. As a BIG Michigan fan we always had fun with family battles between Michigan and Notre Dame or Ohio State and any other team playing MICHIGAN! Cheryl is preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Ferguson, and both parents, John and Sharon Basham and a brother, Scott John Basham Cheryl is survived by her two sisters; Shelley Basham, and Tracey (Basham) Johnson, and her favorite Brother-in-law, Bo Johnson. In addition to 5 nieces; Holly (Ayra), Jennifer (Tim), Kristen (Burt), Megan, and Becky (RD). 3 nephews; Matt, Scott, and Mike (Stacy). Along with 14 great nieces and nephews and 1 great, great niece and 2 great, great nephews, along with many relatives near and far. Pallbearers will be Bo Johnson, Scott Basham, Matt Johnson, Mike Johnson, RD (Ron) Allen, and Tim Bloss. Donations may be given may be given to Elara Caring Hospice Foundation at ElaraFoundation.org The family wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to Elara Caring Hospice for being with us through our journey. This gave the family the ability of taking care of Cheryl at home so that she could fulfil her last wish of being with loved ones until the end.
